If you require a lot of downtime and peace and quiet you’re not alone.  A significant number of the population identifies as introverts. That said, as you know homebodies enjoy traveling as well. Here’s our list of some of the top enjoyable travel spots for introverts:

Bhutan

What’s great about Bhutan is that tourism has only been an option here for the past few decades. With that said it’s not overly commercialized so you won’t be surrounded by tons of tourists. Considering that Bhutan was once secluded from outsiders it’s a great place for introverts who are seeking adventures that are more off the beaten path. The Himalayan range, Buddhist temples and beautiful tranquil forests are all here to explore.

Finland

Being one of the most remote and less frequently visited places in Europe, Finland is a fantastic place for introverted travelers. Locals here enjoy their peaceful nature-filled surroundings. Finland is known as a safe destination for solo travelers so aside from enjoying its beauty, introverted travelers will enjoy its stress-free environment. 

Copenhagen, Denmark

If you’re looking for a bike-friendly destination Copenhagen is a great place to consider. If you’re the type of introvert that enjoys cafes – you’re in luck! Copenhagen is known for its numerous cafes where you can relax with a good book or people watch. There are also many beautiful quiet gardens to visit such as King’s Garden.

Switzerland

Another popular destination in Europe for introverts is Pontresina, Switzerland. Located in the Alps mountain range, this stunning getaway is known throughout the world as a skiing enthusiast’s paradise. There are not one, not two, but three very well-known world-class ski resorts located in this whimsical town. Alternatively, Pontresina is also a great place to visit during the Summer months as well for hiking and viewing the beautiful wildflowers. There are hundreds of miles of trails to explore and enjoy.

Galapagos Islands

First of all, the number of people allowed admittance to the Galapagos Islands is limited, so crowds will be a non-issue. Music to an introvert’s ears. You won’t need to stand and wait in long lines when visiting the Galapagos. That said, you’ll be able to fully enjoy and experience the marvelous nature and exotic wildlife. 

Iceland
